Maldon is in a convenient location and close to the centre of Victoria. An easy commute from Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo or to the northern borders of the state.
The townships offers all the basic facilities needed with an IGA supermarket, Bendigo Bank, ATM’s, newsagency, pharmacy, two hotels, take-away, coffee shops and many other businesses that cater to its historical significance.
On its doorstep is some of the most breathtaking scenery in the state from its main street to the natural environment. Mt Tarrengower towers over the township and provides a number of great walking, running or mountain bike tracks to its summit 556m above sea level. From the summit you capture views of the Grampians, Cairn Curran Reservoir, Mt Macedon and many of the other surrounding mountain ranges. The volcanic rock activity on Mt Tarrengower and through the Nuggetty Ranges as well as its mining past make exploring an attractive pastime.
The updated Maldon to Castlemaine Rail Trail also joins the two neighbours up now by bike, in addition to the old steam engine that rattles along the train tracks.
We are of close proximity also to Bendigo (30 minutes), Castlemaine (13 minutes) and Cairn Curran Reservoir (10 minutes) by car in making Maldon a great place to operate a camp from.
